Together, we will craft a personal and unique wedding ceremony from scratch that reflects your story and honors your union! We can do this in several ways: We can write the wedding ceremony together, choosing readings, side ceremonies and any other traditions or unique features you'd like to include or, you can entrust me to take what I've learned about you and create the ceremony for you. ( No worries, you always have final approval over everything!) You may also choose to write your own wedding ceremony for me to officiate( with a review from me just to check for appropriateness and legal language). I encourage you to create your own vows and will be happy to help you with them or write them for you.
If you would like to enhance your ceremony, at no extra charge, we can easily incorporate side ceremonies and rituals such as the Unity Candle, Handfasting, the Wine and Letter Box ceremony, Jumping the Broom, the Hand Ceremony,or many others. I am always happy to include new or creative ideas, family members, friends and children in the ceremony.
If your wedding will be more intimate and/or you don't want the fuss of a formal custom ceremony, I offer a choice of pre-written, standard wedding ceremonies (written by me) that range from a simple traditional "I do" to a lovely brief spiritual ceremony. You can take one "as is" or "mix and match" sections to create your own unique ceremony! All short & sweet wedding ceremonies are able to have limited personalization added. For a small additional fee, we can add any side ceremony.
Do you already have your marriage license or are you planning to run and get one in the next few days and just want to get married legally? While you can't really "elope" in NJ, you can apply for and get your license in approximately 72 hours and you can have a quick and quiet wedding ceremony. I get to choose the ceremony, and you can choose a location within 10 miles of Hillsborough, NJ, or let me suggest a great little spot for you. You and 2 witnesses are all you need, along with a few words from me for the legal part and you can be married tonight, tomorrow or this weekend ( as long as I'm available!)
Whether you've been together for a few months or many years, a Vow Renewal or Affirmation Ceremony is a lovely way of reminding yourself, your family and your children of your commitment to each other and the depth of your love. Perhaps you had a small wedding ceremony the first time around and you'd like to celebrate now with your family and friends. Or, maybe you're celebrating a special wedding anniversary and you want to recommit yourselves to your marriage. It is my pleasure to be able to co-create with you, a loving and meaningful ceremony.
Your Vow Renewal ceremony can be whatever you'd like it to be; anything from a completely traditional ceremony to a creative unique celebration of your partnership which includes your family and friends. Readings, music, grandchildren participating, are all options we can consider and incorporate in your Vow Renewal Ceremony. I would be honored to be your Officiant for this very special occasion!
“No union is more profound than marriage, for it embodies the highest ideals of love, fidelity, devotion, sacrifice, and family. In forming a marital union, two people become something greater than once they were...Marriage embodies a love that may endure even past death. It would misunderstand these men and women to say they disrespect the idea of marriage. Their plea is that they do respect it, respect it so deeply that they seek to find its fulfillment for themselves. Their hope is not to be condemned to live in loneliness, excluded from one of civilization’s oldest institutions. They ask for equal dignity in the eyes of the law.The Constitution grants them that right.” US Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy, June 26, 2015

Every wedding ceremony is created for you and is as unique as you are. When we meet for your free, no-obligation consultation and discuss your wishes and needs, I will determine my fee and provide you with an exact quote. Generally my fees range from $200 for a mid-week local, last minute ceremony up to $600 depending on your particular wishes for your ceremony and the location of your NJ wedding. There will always be officiants who charge less than I do, but few will provide you with the personalized care and service and the uniquely yours ceremony that I provide.
There are many beautiful locations in the Garden State to have a ceremony including parks, lake recreation areas, event venues, wineries, chapels, restaurants, backyards....and I've officiated wedding ceremonies in all of the above!
